Of course, I am gracious. But obviously not humble! :)

If you do the math there is maybe only 7-8 fish that are tagged in each lake out of thousands would make it hard to catch .
Some may never even be caught right away
And i hope you would have a valid fishing license and proper stamps if required in the first place LOL there is no catch troutbreath

Actually it's less than that. 300 tagged fish are distributed into stocked lakes across the province, not just the Lower Mainland.
-
If you wish to release the tagged fish and claim your prize at the same time, you can remove the tag by cutting it with a pair of scissors.
-
As of a few days ago, a couple of tags have been retrieved in the Lower Mainland (both by the same angler! :D ), one fish from Vancouver Island, one from the Okanagan area. :)
-
Bump! Many are still swimming around. Has anyone caught one yet? :)
-
Update. 15 tagged fish were caught and prizes were claimed in May.
-
285 more to go.
-
$28,500 to go. ;)

I was at a local lake Saturday and saw a fellow catch one. Saw another guy at the same spot last month with one, and heard of a third. That's two confirmed firsthand. I wouldn't use the contest as a source of income, but it sure gets the anglers who witness it excited, and adds to the fun! ;D
-
If you can release the fish , why do this ? . I thought it would be to study the fish for whatever reason
-
I think that these particular tags are dedicated just to the contest and/or to gather info that can be given when one phones the 1-800 number.
-
I want one of these
-
Can someone tell me what lakes the tagged fish are in?
-
only one way to find out, get out there.
-
I saw one caught at an interior lake. We also saw 2 more swimming around but couldn't manage to catch the little biggers.
like already stated just give the tag a quick snip and send the fish back into the lake if you aren't planning to kill them
-
I wouldn't use the contest as a source of income...
Already quit my day job. ;D ;D
-
Hey, just read this, are there still prizes available for tagged fish?
-
Yes. There are still many tagged fish out at the lakes so as long as you can catch one, you can still claim the cash prize by phoning the number on the tag.

I caught one – ffsbc pink tagged trout!
Funny story, went to Sheridan area about 2 months ago and the first lake we hit was Irish. Four of us fished it for a couple hours and I was the only one to catch a fish and it happened to be one of the 300 tagged rainbows stocked by ffsbc. Then I lost it! Or so I thought. Two months later I dawn the waders to fish the Coq (when I caught my first steelhead on the fly) and I unzip the inside pocket of my waders and discover the tag I must have placed there. Only the first 150 reported tags will receive $100 rewards while the rest receive other prizes. Believe it or not I am still one of the first 150 and my cheque is in the mail!
