Title: Light Gear
Post by: Chuck23 on October 19, 2006, 05:02:15 PM
Ok - so I think I need a new rod / reel to fish the vedder (spinning set-up).  I want something as light as possible but will still be ok if I hook a chum or Chinook by mistake (I will be targetting Coho).  I think I'll be fishing 12lb line with an 8lb leader.  Any suggestion of a new rod/real I should pick up to handle these fish?  I'll prob. stop by at Fred's Sat morning to pick it up and get rid of my old stuff (Diawa from about 1985 - lol).

Thanks!

Check out the quantum coldwater series. Great rod for the price. As for reels, I would consider a shimano spinning reel in the 2500 size. Which model you get will depend on your budget. Lastly, I would buy your gear from Reaction rather than Fred's, Darryl will proived you with better service along with a better price.
