Title: Coldwater River and Monte Lake
Post by: TheFishingLad on August 24, 2013, 04:01:12 PM
Drove back to Enderby for my Weekend to visit my father (Thursday Friday) and stopped off at Monte Lake on the way there and caught myself a decent sized Kokanee. On the way home it started raining, or else I would of stopped off at the same spot again, thankfully it was, so I got to try out Coldwater River.

Walked the river for quite some ways with my ultra light gear and caught a few trout, got one near the shore in a little bit of white rapids so I  couldn't completely tell, but it appeared to be a Brooke trout. Also caught a 1lb Bull trout.

This is where it gets interesting. On my travels I cast into into a deeper pool with some rapids going into it so I couldn't see, had a few little ones tugging at it, then on the 4th cast something nearly ripped the rod out of my hand. Determined to get it, I continue casting with a few little hits to no avail. I then check my lure thingy. The end of my hook was broken off (Picture tomorrow when Im not busy).

Old walter?  /shrug. But damn am I curious.

All catch and release in the water soon as possible. But was tempting to get a pic of the bully.

Why I posted this here in The Issues section is beyond me.

But whatever we do. Don't, mention, the war.
