Title: High water bar fishing
Post by: 180gall on July 08, 2011, 09:23:53 AM
Good morning to all.
As this will be my first year bar fishing I have a question
about the water level for the upper Fraser (kilby/chilliwack).
I would like to get out on opening day and I am wondering if there
are any accessible bars at high water or would I just be wasting my time?

Thanks for any imput

I think you will have to wait awhile as water is still bank to bank and very dirty. Also the Mosquitoes are just terrible this year, especially near the Fraser.

Last year a friend and I went out about mid july to scope out some sites out that way.  Water level was right up to the trees.  However we did find a pair of guys who had brought a shovel and formed a platform that extended out in the river about 2 by 6 feet.  Enough room to cast but heaven forbid they ever hooked onto anything.  No room to follow it downstream.

Definately save your efforts until the water atleast clears somewhat.

Mosquitoes were so bad yesterday at Vedder I had to leave to get repellent.
