My friend has asked me to take him fishing for lake trout next weekend as he is relatively new at it. Realizing that Lafarge and Como have been stocked recently, he's fished both of them already, he wants to go somewhere that isn't so busy and is more secluded (ie:can't see a major road).
We'd be spin casting from shore so I'm thinking Sasamat, Rolley, Mike or Whonnock. Aside from Sasamat being a bit closer to Vancouver, which of those (or any others near Vancouver) would best fit the bill (and provide the most action for this time of year)?
Thanks

Rice Lake (http://www.fishingwithrod.com/articles/region_two/rice_lake.html). It'll be getting another stocking next week.

I've fished both Rice Lake & Sassamat in the last 2 weeks with good results using spinners/spoons.
Rice is a smaller lake so there might be better action as the fish are more concentrated.

Don't go to Rolley lake unless you don't mind broken windows and paying insurance deductible.

Rice Lake is my spot, lots of places to cast around the lake or just sit on the dock. hasn`t been too busy lately either.

Alright we'll head out to Rice, thanks everyone for the responses.

Not far from Sasamat is Buntzen Lake. Its much bigger than the urban lakes like Como and Lafarge. Just an idea to add to your list.
