Title: Wood Lake, July 16th & 17th 2011
Post by: fishingbuddha on July 17, 2011, 03:38:02 PM
Fished the last two days up at Woods Lake in Winfield. Wasn't sure if we were going to get into any fish with the hot weather but thought we would take the kids out anyways. As soon as we put our lines in the water we started hooking into the largest kokanee I have caught to date. We ended up catching 11 kokanee in two days all ranging between 1.5 - 2.25 lbs. I have some pics but will have to post when i get back from holidays. Planning on hitting Vinson, Kidd, the Thompson river and do so more kokanee fishing while I am here. Oh yeah, also going to hit the shushwap for some large bows. A friend of mine caught an 11 lber recently on Shushwap.

Awesome Kokes. Can't wait to see the pics. What were you getting them on, as I'll be in that area next week?

All fish were caught using pink dick nites, pink panther martins, or hot pink wedding rings. 25-35 ft deep but a few caught on a surface line.
