Never tried centerpin fishing before, what are a good set up and economic price for begininer?

Approx $200, will give you a good start up combo, unless you have a expensive taste. ;D

I believe 200ish + few bucks for 15lb test mono.

Shimano rod + amundson CP reel.

I was looking at the Okuma Adventa, cheapest price I saw was $149 (free shipping) from FishUSA. Caveat, I know nothing about centerpin reels. They seem to get mentioned often favorably when folks inquire about starter reels. And they're off the shelf.
