What are some good knots? I know a few but i would like to increase my knowledge. Anyone know of a good site with descriptions and good easy to follow pictures? Thank you.

My favorite is the palomar knot. Most guys use the improved clinch but I have had better success with the palomar. Less breaking, less slipping and basically easier to tie.

Other MUST KNOW knots:
Baitloop (if you salmon/steelhead fish)
Albright: THE best for joining flyline to leader if you dont mind a bit of bulk
Arbor Knot: Attaching backing to your spool
Surgeons knot: Easy knot for connecting two pieces of mono

Thats pretty much all I ever use for both spin and flyfishing.

I use the improved clinch but put it through the eye twice and wet it well before cinching up. Works for me. I don't lose fish because of the knot. I only lose fish through stupidity...i.e. not paying attention to float. My mother used to say, "If you snooze you lose."

I tend to use the improved clinch knot mainly too in the same way that Terry just described with going through the eye twice. I don't have too many problems with the knot, it's easy to tie, fairly strong and doesn't slip. I usually lose fish for a variety of different reasons and yes, stupidity is one of them too, although impatience ranks pretty high when I get tired of fighting a fish and decide to force 'em a bit too much.

Here are a few from my site.
They're in Japanese but I think you can tell by the pictures still.

Here are some good knots for braided line too, I use the last illustrated knot for my PE/braided line. It's easy and it dosen't break.

I hope this helps ;)

Terry, The clinch knot that you are talking about sounds like it what is called a 'Trilene Knot'.

Yep Trilene Knot or improved cinch knot.

Use one of those knot tying tools....it works for almost every situation...basically. Stronger knot than the improved clinch knot.
When I'm too lazy, I use the improved clinch knot...but the secret is to wrap the line around the hook-eye (or swivel, or whatever you're tying it to) TWICE. I've done tests, and this worked better than wrapping it around the hook-eye only one time.

I normally tie an improved clinch knot. And as someone mentioned, wet the knot first before you pull it tight. This makes the knot more smoother, reduces friction and I find it improves the strength of the knot.

Improved Clinch (ocean & fly fishing), Bait Loop (River), Turtle (fly fishing). i also prefer the single windsor over the double windsor ;D
