Gary point pike minnow

Planning to fish at gary point for the weekend.is the water clearity really poor.will lures catch them,if not what kind of bait will be best to catch them .thank you

The water clarity is abysmal right now. Lures won't work well unless you land them directly in the fishes' mouths. You could probably bottom fish with some floating bait but I'd rather put the time in somewhere where you'll have better chances :)

I've only tried to fish there once (unsuccessfully), but I did see some kids that were doing pretty good on bull trout in the lagoons fishing bait on the bottom...

This weekend of all weekends? I couldn't think of a worse place to try and fish than Steveston on Canada Day  :P

Ambassador is right, I'd avoid Steveston all of this weekend unless your life depends on it.

Water clarity is usually not good enough for lure casting for pikeminnow until the last two weeks of August at Garry Point Park, sometimes even later.
