Title: cap coho genetics

hey guys.. these early cap coho are indeed the small variety. i have caught some before and i was wondering if anyone had info  on this species of coho. are they just jack coho 2 year old fish or are they mature coho 4 years  but just not that big of size. thanx. :)

i was told that the hatchery gets its brood stock at the begining of the run, begining of the run are usaully the smaller fish, hench the size of their offspring is on the smaller side as well, but by taking the first fish up the river you can be fairly certain that they are hearty healthy fish, i believe this is the reasoning

I believe that they are the mature jacks. All the ones I've caught over the years have all been males.
