did very well today there for fresh cohos, lots of big fresh fish, and some jacks finally to round things out.
The chum seem to be scarce and booty though and Im guessing the dam is still flowing though I didnt see it up close.

i find if you short float one to two feet below the surface you almost always hook up with the fresher chum salmon in the system as they will actually be more energetic to make a strike on your offering, where as the people fishing nearer the bottom end up with more boots and more snagged fish

Was out there for a few hours today, I was short floating with roe, got skunked.
Not that there weren't plenty of chum being brought in, (by their tail, back, fins).
Didn't see or hear of any coho.

Hit the Stave today and conditions were decent.  Didn't see any Coho or Springs taken.  Chum everywhere.  Saw one guy flossing out chum left, right and centre.  He even bonked a foul hooked fish.   >:(

I was there on the 20th, and I did rather well. Landed 7 in 4 hours.

Short floating a bent rod style jig.

I didn't see any coho or springs tho, but lot of ppl hooking chum

I spent the last two Fridays there. The amount of fish in the river two weeks ago was down from normal. Last Friday about 60% of normal. My buddy and I landed 20 two weeks ago and 35 this last Friday and only one white belly in the whole lot. Pretty shabby if you ask me. Oh well, it's closed now. As for springs and coho; saw some jack coho and one spring.

I was there yesterday. The toilet bowl looked like the pictures I saw from peg leg this summer.Everyone and their dog, flossing to beat the band. I was on the other side and short floated a cerise jig and got more fish than the flossers that were beside me ;D It was an eye opener to say the least, and confirms that I made the right decision, when I went trout fishing this summer instead of partaking in the "show". I never want to be around that many people fishing again. I was almost head hooked about 4 times by one individual, and the last time he casted over me I grabbed his line off mine , took my clippers, cut his betty and 7/0 hook ::), looked him straight in the eye and when he went to put out his hand to grab it from me, I dropped it at his feet and walked away. ;D He couldn't speak "engrish", so there was no talking ;D

Tons of fish everywhere though, I did see some coho down by the bridge, but mostly boots and half arsed dogs. I managed a couple of decent doe's for the smoker though, plus some very nice skeins as well, not chrome silver brights, but pretty good shape and still very solid/firm.

I wonder what the steelhead run is gonna be like this year , went out yesterday one nice cuttie on a orange egg pattern on a 5 weight flyrod. Where you find one cuttie you find many!
