To motivate local fly tiers, Reaction
Fly and Tackle is conducting a monthly fly tying challenge in
2007! Here are the rules of the contest:
- You must purchase a bag with selected feathers for each monthly
contest from Reaction Fly and Tackle.
- The Cost of contest is $10.
- We will have new material to tie with each month.
- You can use any hook that you already have (change it up and
use different hooks).
- You can make as many different patterns as you want (more the
better).
- Once a month at our fly tying class, we will pick the best tied
“BUG”. It will be displayed in a picture frame at the
store.
- The monthly winner receives a $20 gift certificate from Reaction
Fly and Tackle, and the chance to tie his/her fly the night of
the draw (or have someone else tie it).

We will take each month's winner and have a tie-off next Christmas
at the store. All thirteen tyers will have a set amount of time
with a mystery bag of materials. At the end of the final contest,
the grand winner will receive $250.00 of their choice in tying materials.
Plus we will be auctioning the framed flies off, with all proceeds
going to the Fraser
Valley Trout Hatcher. |
