Fisheries and Oceans Canada recently made a presentation on the Fraser River recreational fishery creel survey to the South Coast Sport Fishing Advisory Board. This presentation is now available in the PDF format for those who are interested.
The Lower Fraser River (downstream from Hope) provides a recreational chinook salmon fishery between May and December each year. Creel survey is a management tool used to measure the harvest by recreational fishermen so future management measures can be adjusted to ensure the sustainability of this rich resource. Information on the Lower Fraser salmon fisheries can be found on this Fisheries and Oceans website.
