Pacific Angler early 2009 courses
Posted on January 16th, 2008 by Rodney Hsu, webmaster

Pacific Angler Fly and Tackle is offering 6 new courses to help you up your angling skills and tide you over through these slower months:

Advanced Steelhead and Salmon Fly Tying Workshop with Ron Hjorth
Join Ron Hjorth for an intermediate to advanced level, “hands on” steelhead and salmon fly tying workshop. We will cover traditional and tube flies, as well as the popular skagit “Intruder style” variations.

Steelhead Float Fishing Course with Jason Tonelli
Your instructor, Jason Tonelli, has devoted his life to chasing steelhead. He is a true master of one of the most productive and enjoyable ways to catch steelhead: float fishing.

The Techniques of a Successful Steelheader: an in-depth look at how to catch steelhead on the fly
Hooking a steelhead on the fly is considered by many as the ultimate cold-water challenge. Many anglers toil for seasons before landing their first fish. This said, with the proper instruction, the right mindset and an understanding of the fundamentals, hooking a steelhead on a fly rod is much easier than one might believe.

Tying Scandinavian Tube Flies with Casey Giesbrecht
Interested in learning the methods behind creating the latest in Scandinavian tube flies? Sit down for an evening session of fly tying with Casey Giesbrecht while he explains the F.I.T.S. System by Guideline Fly Fishing and shows you how to tie the hottest steelhead fly patterns inspired by master fly tier Mikael Frodin.

Introduction to Fly Fishing with Jason Tonelli
This course is designed to give the new fly fisher the basic knowledge, casting skills, and fly fishing strategies to effectively fish our local lakes, rivers, and estuaries. This course is comprised of two sessions: one theory and one casting.

Tying Jigs for Steelhead
Have you ever wanted to learn the techniques required to produce one of the most effective lures for summer and winter run Steelhead in B.C.? Join Casey Giesbrecht for an evening of tying jigs for steelhead and salmon. We will spend time discussing and creating these lures that have been gaining huge popularity across British Columbia.
