2007 Fraser River Sockeye Escapement Enumeration: In-season Updates
Posted on July 25th, 2007 by Rodney Hsu, webmaster

Please note the launch of the 2007 DFO spawning ground assessment website. In-season progress reports will be posted every Monday and Thursday afternoon on the Fraser Sockeye escapement website beginning on Monday, July 23rd, 2007 and continuing through the field season. The updates can be viewed by selecting the link below, scrolling to the bottom of the page and selecting either the PDF or HTML format of the "Most Current Escapement Update" link:

http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fraserriver/escapeupdate.htm

This site provides in-season updates from operational sockeye salmon escapement estimation field studies in the Fraser River, including fence, bridge, dam and tower counts, mark-recapture studies, visual surveys, and physical (water temperature, level) and fish condition sampling. These updates are intended to provide general information regarding project activities, run timing and relative abundance, and should not be interpreted as escapement estimates.
