Steveston Bullhead Derby The Richmond Golden Rods and Reels Society will be hosting the annual Steveston Bullhead derby at Garry Point Park on Sunday June 24th. This derby is for children who are age 12 or under as well as seniors who are 65 and older. The derby is free! Bullhead, also known as pacific staghorn sculpin, are abundant in the Tidal Fraser River. They are generally between 4 and 16 inches long. Beside bullhead, it is also possible to catch many other fish species such as peamouth chub, northern pikeminnow and bull trout. Please be aware that bull trout are protected and required to be released with care when caught. For more information, please visit the derby website. |
