Langley's BC Rivers Day Celebration

Join Langley Environmental Partners Society and the Township of Langley as we celebrate at the BC Rivers Day Community Festival!
Taking place Sunday, September 24th at Williams Park (238 St. South of 68 Ave.) from 11:00am - 4:00pm, this year’s free family event offers over 30 interactive displays and activity booths including: face painting, bird house building, tree planting, creek peek, bee demonstrations, organic produce sampling, adopt-a-programs and t-shirt painting. The festival will also feature:
- Sam’s Rot’n’Pot’n’Pan Band, performing original, pirate-laced, minstrel-flavoured, kid-centric music. Performing at 12pm and 2pm on the main stage.
- Tony Prophet, a singer/guitarist with a mellow sound and entertaining banter.
- Seacology Streamcare Puppet Theatre, the entertaining story providing a fish-eye view of stream ecology. Join Finny, Gulpy and Ted the Trout as they explore the impact of pollution in streams.
- Public Dreams Society, ‘Eagle’ and ‘Mother Earth’ Stilt Walkers, with a Roving Band.
- Public Dreams Society Mask Making, make a mask of an animal found in your watershed!
- Pan for Gold and learn about the history of the Fraser River with Yukon Dan.
- New this year- Kid’s Stewardship Passport Program, visit the booths, fill up the passport, get a prize!
- Undersea Crawlzone, crawl through a 40- foot long ocean extravaganza!
Langley Environmental Partners Society, Discover your salmon sense while playing the Salmon Board Game.
- The Bicycle Blender, spin your way to a delicious strawberry smoothie.
The BC Rivers Day Festival kicks off WaterWeeks, a three-week series of environmental stewardship activities, including hatchery tours, treeplanting events, voyageur canoe paddles and school-based education programs. For more information, please visit our website.
