Proposed 2006/2007 Coquihalla Steelhead Opening
Posted on June 16th, 2006 by Ministry of Environment
The Ministry of Environment is seeking input from stakeholders
on a potential 2006/07 opening for the angling of summer-run steelhead
in the Coquihalla River (above the downstream entrance to the lower
railway tunnel).
In pursuit of consultation with a wide variety of different stakeholders,
I would like to ask your assistance with the distribution of this
letter to SFAC members. Given the profile of the river and this
potential fishery, I think it would be useful for this letter to
be forwarded to all 3 SFAC groups on the mainland portion of the
Lower Mainland Region (Lower Fraser SFAC, Upper Fraser SFAC, and
Squamish to Lillooet SFAC).
We are asking that any feedback on the proposed opening be forwarded
to our office by July 1st.
Thanks in advance for assistance with this request.
