| November 3rd, 2005: Significant Tree
Day In Saanich
From Friends of Mount Douglas Park:
The Friends of Mount Douglas Park and the District of Saanich
invite you to celebrate Significant Tree Day in Saanich by planting
native vegetation along Douglas Creek. This is a family event and
supervised children are welcome. Please dress for the weather and
bring a shovel if you have one.
Restorationists and vegetation specialists from the Peninsula Streams
Society and two gardeners from the Saanich Parks Department will
be available to help find appropriate spots for the plants and to
discuss the importance of vegetation in the restoration of urban
streams.
The event starts at 10:30 AM Sunday November 6th, 2005. Meet at
the picnic area in Mount Douglas Park. For further details or directions
contact Bob Bridgeman, 477-7464 or rbridge@shaw.ca
Please contact me if you plan on attending so that I can plan for
the numbers.
Community partners: Friends of Mount Douglas Park Society; Saanich
