Grant Available From Pacific
Salmon Foundation: October 15 2005 is the closing date for our next
Community Salmon Program funding round. The Pacific Salmon Foundation
is a non-profit, charitable organization with a long-term commitment to the conservation
and rehabilitation of wild Pacific salmon stocks and their habitat. Operating
independently from government, the PSF forges partnerships with communities, all
five levels of government and their agencies, industry and other non-profit organizations
to seek funding and resources to support community stewardship of Pacific salmon. Objectives
of the Pacific Salmon Foundation: - To promote the conservation,
rehabilitation and enhancement of Pacific salmon for the benefit of present and
future generations, and
- To provide a funding mechanism
for projects promoting the conservation, rehabilitation and enhancement of Pacific
salmon through our Community Salmon Program.
Types of Projects
Supported By the Community Salmon Program The Pacific Salmon Foundation
believes in supporting volunteerism as it relates to community-based salmon rehabilitation
and aquatic stewardship volunteer capacity-building initiatives. Projects
that support Pacific salmon and that meet the Community Salmon Program criteria
will be considered, such as: - Habitat assessment
- Habitat rehabilitation
- Stock
assessment
- Stock rehabilitation
- Education and awareness
- Community
stewardship projects

on September 5 2005 . Please note the new changes. Please make an
appointment a minimum of 4-6 weeks before October 15 with your community advisor
and others that you need letters of support from. They need to be familiar with
your group, your project and your budget before you ask them for a letter of support.
