The nights have been cooler lately and the insects have been out in abundance on lakes on the Sunshine Coast. Most of the lakes have had hatches of caddis, damsels and dragon flies.

Crowston lake has been ok. Tiny dries to imitate the midges that are constantly hatching will be good. Micro leeches have also been working. Damselfly nymphs in grey and deer hair dragons down deep (brown or green) will get consistent takes.

Trout lake has been slow during the day but, it is quite possible to get takes near the weed beds with tom thumbs and other patterns in the late afternoon and into the evening.

For the more adventurous, Harris lake with it's higher elevation will have good opportunities. Doc spatley's in various colours and tiny shrimp patterns will keep everyone busy.

Good Luck!!
