About CRAC
The Chilliwack
River Action Committee is a community based, volunteer, non profit,
umbrella society, made up representatives from local environmental
associations and the public with the purpose to organize and administer
environmental projects for the protection of the Chilliwack River
Watershed. We have an elected Board of Directors and no regular
paid staff. We formed in 1997 to deal with the problem of river
siltation caused by eroding clay slides. We became a registered
BC Society on October 8, 1998 and are now registered with Canada
Customs and Revenue Agency and designated as a charitable organization
for issuing official income tax receipts. Our mission is to preserve
the health and sustainability of the Chilliwack River Watershed
and its fish resources for future generations to enjoy.
