2009 Bullhead Fishing Derby
 
 

The Richmond Golden Rods & Reels Society, in conjunction with the Steveston Salmon Festival, will hold the annual Bullhead Fishing Derby on Sunday, June 21, 2008, at Garry Point Park in Steveston. The event is FREE!

This long running event is open to children age 12 & under and seniors 65 & up. Prizes are available for numerous categories.

Bullhead is the common nickname of pacific staghorn sculpin. They live on the bottom of the Fraser River and feed on small fish and crustaceans. A large bullhead can grow as big as 50cm long! The best bait to catch them with are worms and shrimps. Fishing with Rod

Garry Point Park is located in Steveston, a historic fishing village at the southwestern corner of Richmond. To get there, get onto No. 1 Road when arrive in Richmond, turn west at Chatham Street (approximately 500 meters south of Steveston Highway). Continue to the end of Chatham Street, you will arrive in the parking lot of the park. Area 29 Saltwater regulations
